The Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia (GTIP)
is a community
of people dedicated to advancing the
philosophies and practices of
Gestalt Therapy. We
offer a three-year training program in this
therapeutic approach.

Gestalt Therapy Theory breaks the mold. It can be bold, tender, powerful, embodied, unabashedly affirming, passionate, spacious, creative, confused, accountable, and heartfelt. It can be an unapologetic stand for the wild and nontraditional ways that people heal and come to know themselves better, stronger, and gentler.
−Em House, GTIP class of 2021, on why they enrolled in GTIP

As a therapist, I can unequivocally tell you I am a better clinician as a result of having gone through the program, but I’m still not sure that’s what I want everyone to know. What I can tell you is that I am a different person—I know that. I’m a different husband and a different father and different friend. I feel differently, and I know I feel more deeply than I’ve ever have before.
Brian Colangelo, GTIP class of 2016

The faculty and graduates support the growth and evolution of Gestalt Therapy through continued education, involvement in professional organizations and conferences; and contribution to the professional literature. Perhaps even more important, this community is also committed to making the core values of Gestalt Therapy - including presence, dialogue, awareness, and respect - central and active in their work and lives.
