Applicants with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. A non-refundable fee and three letters of recommendation accompany the application for admission.
Admission to the program is based on recommendations and a review of candidates’ abilities to:
- be self reflective
- engage in group experiences
- integrate and utilize written and didactic theoretical material
- articulate why Gestalt Therapy interests them personally and professionally
Preference is given to applicants who have engaged in some form of personal growth experience.
GTIP uses a rolling admissions process: once application materials are submitted, applicants will be invited for an interview with two members of GTIP leadership and/or faculty. After the interview and review of materials, GTIP will notify applicants of the admissions decision. Applications are accepted until the first of September; however, there is no guarantee that financial aid will be available for people who apply after April 20, 2020.
Application for admission requires a fee — $50 by July 31 or $75 after that date — three letters of recommendation, and an interview with a faculty member. The application process must be complete by the first weekend of training in September.
GTIP is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology to offer continuing education for psychologists. GTIP maintains responsibility for the program.
This training is approved through the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Bryn Mawr GSSWSR, as a CSWE accredited school of Social Work, is a pre-approved provider of continuing education credits for Social Workers in Pennsylvania and many other states.
